The 2nd International Workshop on “Bioinformatics and applied information technologies for medical purpose

BAITmp-2025

GLORY TO UKRAINE! GLORY TO HEROES!

GENERAL INFORMATION

Periodicity: once a year
Year of foundation: 2024
UDC: 004
Founders: Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University.

Today, there is a rapid development of the IT industry in the direction of solving applied problems regarding the effective organization of the information process to reduce the costs of time, labor, energy and material resources in all areas of human life and modern society, based on the rational use of modern achievements in the field of computer technology and other high technologies, the latest means of communication, software and practical experience. The introduction of concepts and technologies of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data analysis, cloud technologies, machine learning, etc., is especially fast and effective in the field of biomedical technologies, in particular from the collection, storage, modeling and analysis of biomedical data, signals and images, to the development of complex intellectualized human-machine systems, in particular brain-computer interfaces, intellectualized systems of human empowerment and rehabilitation lost functions, etc. The purpose of BAIT-2025 is to discuss the results of original scientific research in the directions of creating or improving applied information technologies for the needs of biomedicine.

Participation and publication are free of charge!

Proceedings of the BAITmp-2025 shall be submitted to CEUR-WS.org for online publication and planned to be indexed in Scopus & Web of Science.

BAITmp workshop take the form of online-presentation by invited keynote speakers plus presentations of peer-reviewed individual papers.

WORKSHOP TOPICS

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Bioinformatics focuses on the development and application of computational methods and tools for analyzing vast amounts of biological data, such as DNA/RNA sequences and protein structures. This area encompasses research in genomics, proteomics, and the modeling of biological processes, contributing to a deeper understanding of molecular mechanisms of life and evolution. Key attention is paid to innovative algorithms for pattern recognition, predicting gene functions, and advancing personalized medicine.

This topic explores the principles and technologies for creating effective and intuitive interaction between humans and computer systems. The main emphasis is on developing new interface types, including brain-computer interfaces (BCI), virtual/augmented reality, and sensory/gesture-based systems that minimize cognitive load. Research in this field is critical for enhancing the accessibility, productivity, and safety of complex IT systems across all sectors, including healthcare and industry.

This direction is dedicated to utilizing powerful analytical tools and machine learning methods to process and interpret colossal medical data sets, including electronic health records, images, genomic data, and wearable device metrics. The primary goal is to uncover hidden patterns, predict disease outbreaks, optimize clinical decisions, and develop novel treatment protocols. The focus is on tools that increase diagnostic accuracy and enable the personalization of therapeutic approaches.

This topic centers on the integration of information technologies, artificial intelligence, and computer vision to automate and enhance the accuracy of medical diagnostic processes. Research includes developing intelligent systems for analyzing medical images (X-ray, MRI, CT), automated recognition of pathologies, and creating clinical decision support systems (CDSS). The objective is to reduce human error, accelerate the diagnostic process, and provide clinicians with tools for earlier and more precise disease detection.
